Jon Liebergall is a top-performing and transformative senior financial services executive with a track record of accomplishment in business development, risk mitigation, advising, and organizational leadership. An agile change agent known for adding value, resolving complex issues, forming strong relationships, and creating and executing successful financial plans through collaboration and negotiation.
Jon joined AIG in 1991 after spending four years as an investment banker in New York City. He remained at AIG for twenty-five years honing his investment banking skills structuring and executing transactions for AIG's proprietary portfolio. Counterparties included governmental entities, large multi-nationals, fortune 500 companies, pension funds, start-up entities and high net worth individuals. These highly complex transactions crossed many different disciplines including fixed income, equities, currencies, derivatives, borrowings and lendings.
It was through his ownership of these transactions that Jon developed his full understanding of the importance of relationships and value. Transactions involved understanding the clients needs and concerns, creating a solution to address those concerns, executing a trade that solved the clients problems and finally continuing to service the client, long beyond execution, until the trade matured. It was because of his complete knowledge of the business, along with his ability to work well with clients that Jon was asked to manage the wind down of AIG's problematic portfolios post financial crisis and then remain as a key figure in the recapitalization of AIG and its successful repayment of all debts owed to the american taxpayers.
Since his departure from AIG in 2015, Jon has enjoyed utilizing his skills to assist start-up enterprises in achieving their growth objectives.
